The winery is based on the dream and hard work of Don and Rhonda Carano who are the former owners and is located in picturesque Dry Creek Valley. If you’re coming from San Francisco, it should take you around an hour and thirty minutes to get to the winery.
This property has exquisite gardens and breathtaking views.Visitors may taste sustainably-farmed wines, stroll acres of lush gardens and take in spectacular panoramic vineyard views. Il Terrazzo Reserve Tasting
The Il Terrazzo wine tasting tour is available daily and overlooks the breathtaking vineyards in Dry Creek Valley. Il Terrazzo means The terrace in Italian and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a flight of four, award-winning Reserve wines. It cost $30 per person and is complimentary for wine club members.
You’ll learn about the winemaking philosophy and vineyard practices and will be provided with a pen and a wine tracker where you can check off which wine you like the most and write in any additional details. This tasting also comes with a cheese sample as well. Trust me when I say you’ll want to book your tasting today! Just as a heads up Ferrari-Carano is currently unable to accommodate children or pets at this time.
The wine expert/ host that I had during my visit was absolutely incredible! She tailored the wine tasting to my preference for sweeter wines topping off the end of the wine tasting with the 2017 Eldorado Gold which has enticing aromas of apricot, papaya, orange blossom and brown sugar, followed by lush flavors of nutmeg, crème brûlée, peach, honey and vanilla. This was my favorite tasting out of all of the other wines.
