It’s Valentine’s Day! The day for L-O-V-E! What better way to celebrate than with a sweet treat! PURE Cupcakes located in Pacific Beach, San Diego was originally founded by Mary Sarain in 2009 as a creative outlet and break from her corporate life. PURE Cupcakes has steadily grown over the last several years and has developed a strong following of PURE devotees since winning Cupcake Wars in 2013 which was filmed at the San Diego Zoo!
All baked goods are made from scratch using all natural ingredients hence the name PURE. They make custom cakes, cupcakes, and cake pops as well as daily cupcakes flavors. Gluten-free or vegan? No worries PURE offers cupcakes for you too!

When I was visiting San Diego, my Cousin, Martha who works at PURE was able to give me a tour of the shop. The daily flavors of the cupcakes are as followed:

I picked up the specialty cupcake called the Rol-e-ol-ee-o which is a rich dark chocolate cake with caramel buttercream, caramel center and hand dipped in dark chocolate. When I tell y’all this is one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had in my life! I took mine to go and put it in my little basket on my bike because we were cruising on the beach that day but trust me I devoured it as soon as we got to the next spot. PURE cupcake is a place you have to try when you visit San Diego.
